I don’t quite remember the day that I stumbled upon Leandra Medine’s blog. To be absolutely honest, I don’t remember what she was wearing & I don’t remember what I was wearing but I do remember her dry humor & quick wit that kept me coming back for more. ‘Man Repelling’. It was an interesting concept & while I applauded her courage & drew inspiration from her looks, my world was not [nor has it ever been] crop tops & overalls. Never to work, never after-hours, never on weekends. It just isn’t my jam. But there was still something about her blog that kept me stalking it like a Jehovah’s witness stalks your suburban home. Who knew I’d ever be interested in someone else’s writing. Weird, right? Reading — gross.
One of the reasons I so enjoy writing this blog is for the interaction I’m able to have with my readers. Another is the fact that I publish unfiltered & unedited musings that are straight out mah brain. The less scripted my posts are, the more response I get from you. Which is my favorite part. You can thank the girl crush/animal to my spirit/dry humored role model who gave me the kick in the pants to share only my honest feelings about Uggs & the travesty that is the flare pant here on DS. Speaking of my spirit animal herself, doesn’t this pic just scream, friendship? I think, yes. Thanks to the finest repeller of men, I’m confident in expressing thangs in my own way up here instead of playing it safe & creating a mundane, vanilla atmosphere. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
So, thanks Le-money for blazing this trail I’m so excited to be embarking upon myself, thanks for keeping it cool in a bad ass full midi skirt sporting jeggings underneath, thanks for the chest bump super cool girl-we-be-homeskillets-fo-lyfe hug last night, & thanks for the continual inspiration to be true to myself. Even if that means divulging that I’m a binge mac & cheese eater. We’ve all got an Everest.
Now it’s your turn to tell me – who inspires YOU?
Hahaha – this post totally made me laugh! Love the coat and those boots are to die for! :)
Had so much fun last night! Thanks for letting me be your “plus 1” :)

I saw you last night and I kept thinking. “I know her” and because i’m such a scatter brain at any event I didn’t remember. You looked gorgeous!
Love that coat and dress! So pretty!

Well now i’m a fan of YOUR writing…great post! I feel like Leandra’s candidness is contagious! I’m inspired by people who are at peace with themselves…and they also make me totally jel. That’s my Everest, but I’ve got some fancy boots and I know a great Sherpa so i’m on my way to the top!

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe!
I absolutely love Leandra and that I am jealous of that instagram pic!
That camel Calvin Klein coat is gorgeous! Love the outfit – classic silhouettes with fun updated pieces.
I know Leandra Medine is super popular, but my style is so classic and traditional I just cannot get into her! haha.
XO
What an amazing coat! I love it.
I’m sorry honey, but you have all the fashion sense of a 24-year-old government contractor. You should try something else for a living.
Leandra is truly hilarious and an inspiration to own your personality and let your freak flag fly (whatever that may be). Writing-wise I was always a huge fan of David Sedaris’ dry wit and ability to make me pee my pants. He has definitely gotten me through a few family vacations when I was younger.
