This dress is $40 and it’s the one you’ll keep reaching for well after the snow hits the ground.

Long, long ago, you could walk down M Street and pop into Annie Creamcheese (RIP) and unearth a gem of a find every single time you showed face. Now, times are a little different. Thank God for ASOS. I found this dress years ago crumpled in between two beaded numbers that were easily 40 pounds each. I thought it was a little short but for somewhere are $20, I bit the bullet. Since that day, I’ve worn this thing at least 100 times. Shit you not. Date nights, shopping excursions, road trips, boozy brunches, birthday dinners… Other than work and a conservative luncheon with your waspy boyfriend’s mother, this dress is appropriate for about every occasion and it’s super easy to style. That’s a win, win in my book. I actually had this thing on last night but got a look… That look that says, “Lady, you’ve worn that thing 5 times in the last 2 weeks. Give it a rest. I know you have their clothes.” But none are as easy as this dress.
It’s perfect for summer, paired with banded flats on super hot days. Or add a denim jacket and boots as the temperatures drop a bit. Once winter rolls around, throw on a black faux fur vest over a leather jacket and add black opaque tights with a little black boot action, flat or heeled. This dress is easily the most versatile dress in my closet and since the discovery of this extremely similar one on ASOS, I’ve bought two more. You can never be too prepared. ** A word to the wise: Do not belt this dress – it’ll be way too short.

LOVE this post idea. Great writing, and amazing styling ideas! Isn’t it funny how sometimes a couple of our super random, cheap purchases become our most worn pieces? I always tell myself I’m going to save up for quality investment pieces, and then I walk in my closet and see my Forever 21 chambray shirt that I’ve worn probably more than 100 times and it’s somehow still going strong.
