This look is brought to you by my trusty Ann Taylor dress I’ve worn at least once a week during this past month’s heat wave (Polar vortex, my ass, Doug Kammeyer), the white blazer that’s gotten me through long nights, bad dates, & hard work days, & a trip to the dry cleaners that’s long overdue. But when your go-to staples are this good & you’ve had a string of oversleeping your alarm by 30 minutes, it’s hard to muster the energy for creating sartorial genius at 6am. Jokes on me, I ran into my early morning running boyfriend in this exact same look twice in the last two weeks. & when I say, “two weeks” I mean 8 days. & when I say, “boyfriend” I mean the stranger I’ve not yet made actual eye contact with. Baby steps.

Hahaha, I know exactly what it feels like when you run into someone in the same work outfit and you worry that they think you never change. Usually it’s my pencil skirt, yellow top and blazer but I get it, it happens.

I have an immediate pang of primal fear which subsides when I come to the conclusion that not only will we probably not get married but I’ll likely never see this human again. Ever. Crisis averted.

Love this look! The white blazer is gorgeous! And I’ll have to check out that shift dress – I’m actually looking for an outfit to wear this coming weekend to go with a new pair of shoes I got (good excuse to shop – right!?) and think it may be perfect! :)
