[monday must-haves] statements for summer

Yes, we’re doing [monday must-haves] on a Tuesday. Don’t get it twisted. I couldn’t wait an entire week to post these favorites & I published yesterday’s post out of haste & excitement. Deal with it.

In this DC heat, I get hot & I mean hot. If I could have it my way I’d wear a maxi & a top knot until football season but that’s just not the way this cookie crumbles. Instead, I try to sport the lightest & coolest clothing pieces possible which sometimes means I’m lacking in the print/texture/fabulous detail department. Enter: the best statement pieces for summer. Most of these bad boys are sitting on my entry table & are thrown on as I walk out the door. I like it keep it as simple as possible with as few pieces possible which means they’ve gotta be good. It’s just too hot to be rocking an 8 piece arm party while you’re waiting for the broken down red line train to come down the tracks. Stick with these & you’ll be as cool as a cucumber & at least your outfit will look put together in this heat. I can’t say the same for that mop on your head or the concealer running down your face. Woof. Is it September yet?
