‘Tis the season for family, pumpkin spiced lattees, unapologetic carbs, hot toddy’s, twinkle lights, & parties. What better excuse for a new dress than a fancy schmancy party? Whether you’ve RSVPed for holiday happy hour drinks with coworkers, Friendsgiving, or you’re heading to your annual family day ‘o fun, I’ve selected a few of my favorite dresses to cover any holiday event that’s creeping up on your iCal. & don’t forget that holiday gift for your hostess: candles, coasters, & cocktail essentials are always safe bets.

I am in love with that green ASOS sparkly shift. I’ve had it sitting in my “potential holiday party dresses” file for over a week now. Can you offer an opinion on a few things regarding that dress?
-What shoes would you wear with it?
-Should a curvy, slightly large busted gal avoid it? Should it buy it a size bigger for a slouchier look?
-And that back – I’ll want to wear a bra, so what should I do about that?
If you can help, thanks!!
Curvy or not, I’d stick with a larger size in this stunner for a more shift dress look. This is too much sequin to be played any other way. The slouchier, the better.
As for the bra situation, choose one with a lace back: black for the red dress (like this one: http://shpst.ly/us131195488?pid=uid2004-8880502-49) & navy for the green (like this one: http://shpst.ly/us375912502?pid=uid2004-8880502-49).
I’d stick with colors in each of the dresses, for shoes. With the green I’d wear a navy pair like these: http://shpst.ly/us434546620?pid=uid2004-8880502-49
& with the red dress I’d shoot for a red heel like this one: http://shpst.ly/us437499944?pid=uid2004-8880502-49 (also comes in navy & black – erbessed)
With the boxy fix of the dress & all the added sparkle, I’d keep whatever heel you choose uber feminine to balance out the look. No chunky heels or booties.
Hope this helps!

Thank you sooooo much!! Now I have to buy the dress :)
I love holiday dresses! There is something about getting super dressed up that really excites me! I love all of the lace and sequins. Great picks!

Same here, sister. You can’t go wrong with an overwhelming amount of sequins. Even if you’re styaing in on a Friday night :)
