You never ever want to be that person juggling 4 bags while your sunglasses fall off your face & your shirt hangs off your shoulder. Not a glam look. & having been that person before, I can tell you that there’s nothing more frustrating while traveling. Ok well maybe traveling with children is more frustrating but let’s just take this one step at a time, shall we?
Travel outfit
En route, I like to dress comfortably but also ensure that I’m dressed appropriately in case my boss happens to be on the same flight. If flying directly to a meeting I’ll always always always wear the suit I plan to wear for the day. Whip out those Tieks & carry your jacket by itself so it doesn’t wrinkle in your suitcase. If heading out the day before the meetings start you can bet your behind I’m wearing my comfiest comfys & likely dressed in 98% black. I’ll sport black pants with some stretch [note this means legitimate pantaloons not to be confused with leggings], a comfy button down or light sweater, & have a pashmina readily available in my carry on. Depending on the weather, I’ll also pack my leather jacket in my carry on. I only travel in flats after watching some horror movie where a woman got stuck in an emergency plane evacuation due to the heels she was wearing. No dice. Flats it is.

Reader tip: Carry a travel size of rosewater spray to freshen your face in-flight. ~Lerkia
DS travel tip: Have travel size dry shampoo on hand for arrival. My hair is always a little extra greasy after my in-flight experience. Hence the essential shower post flight.
Carry-on essentials
I like to make the most out of my in-flight time. This is the time to prep for the meetings on the ground, review the itinerary, draft blog posts for the week, catch up on that book that’s been collecting dust on your nightstand or finish whatever season of West Wing you’re currently on. While I firmly believe in sleeping when you’re dead if you just need a nap, girlfriend, take this time to make it happen. Just make sure you’ve got the appropriate touch up essentials on hand for when you wake up with mascara down your cheeks.

A few little extras I like to keep in my carry-on: tide wipes | toothbrush | makeup wipes | water | advil
DS travel tip: Always carry your jewelry roll & any other majorly important items in your carry-on if you’re checking a bag. 100% of airlines are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Little extras
I’m the first one to want to curl up in a plush hotel bed & watch SVU re-runs while blogging but if you’re in a new city take advantage of the opportunity & get out there & sightsee! Get in touch with your favorites in the destination city on Twitter & plan a meetup.
Reader tips: If a local recommends a resto change the plans you had & go there instead – never fails to turn out a great meal! ~Liz
Never be too tied to a plan that you miss the spontaneous awesome opportunities that come up while traveling! ~Jess
I’m a HUGE fan of tieks for plane travel too! :) Glad you’re loving your ANDI already.
