[monday must-haves] fall staples for the office

THERE’S SO MUCH BLACK!? I know, isn’t it the best? It dropped below 50 this weekend & I was beside myself with excitement. I don’t know what it is about this time of year but the older I get the more I fall in love with it.

Yet another favorite part of this time of year, other than football, roasting mallows, weekend winery tours, & chunky scarves, is that I can wear my favorite color every. single. day. Not that I ever would [lie] but at least I have the option. I’m not sure when I fell so madly in love with black. Maybe it was the night my mother told me to return the black floral top I’d just purchased from Sears because it was far too “gothic” for her liking. Ah, rebellion.

Stock up on comfy sweaters that you can layer over button downs in the office & throw over a maxi dress on the weekends. & while you’re at it, take a gander at this trench. It’s fab, & at this sale price it can’t be beat.

I know we’ve chatted about this before but I can’t say it enough: If you’re mixing blacks, make sure they’re the same black. Not only have I fallen victim to this offensive trap, I’ve also gotten dressed so early in the morning that it wasn’t until noon that I realized I was wearing navy tights with a black sheath dress. I went bare legged the rest of the day. Do yourself a favor & invest in a $5 full length mirror from Target. Your legs [& your self esteem] will thank you.
