My life motto: Buy for the label. Who’s not a sucker for good branding!?
If you’ve been around these parts long enough, you know my wine buying modus operandi is exclusively label driven. When the wine tastes good, that’s just a perk.
I was originally attracted to Diablo for the label, was intrigued by it only being sold in 4 states this year (one is Maryland!), and stayed for the bold flavor. Aged for 6 months, 6 weeks, and 6 days, Diablo features touches of black fruit blended with mocha and creamy vanilla notes making it the perfect choice for any Halloween themed event you’re hosting over the next week!
To celebrate the end of a big weekend for both of us, we cracked out first bottle of Diablo on the rooftop of a new building in town and were pleasantly surprised when this gorgeous sunset broke through what had otherwise been a dreary day, creating the perfect opportunity to shoot this bottle in sunset light and shadows which has become my photo op of choice lately!
If you’re in the market for a deep and mysterious red for a special occasion and you’re in the Maryland area, I’d suggest giving this Diablo a try. Buy for the label, stay for the taste!
