I’m looking for a tan trench that has leather details but won’t make me look like I’m in a motorcycle gang. It still needs to be office-appropriate. Can you suggest a few that are reasonably priced?
Lucky for you, I’ve been mildly obsessed with finding the perfect trench with leather sleeves & extra detailing for the past 2 years. This Michael Kors trench with detachable hood is my #1 & can be snagged at a super reasonable price point. I’ve included a few of my favorites below – from army green to winter white – the trench you’ve been drooling over is there. For under $200.
I have a date this weekend & I’m looking to have an SJP moment that’s fiscally reasonable. In particular, with the rose applique jacket that she wore when she visitied Charlotte in the hospital.
For under $50, I recently purchased this stunner & can’t believe how much I love it. It’s not quite the statement jacket but at this price point it’s hard to compete. Real life? I’m wearing it as I write this. Get this hot potato while you can. [Bonus: It’s also shockingly warm.]
I typically play it safe with shift dresses at work but I’m looking to incorporate some leather into conference attire. Are leather shift dresses a thing? Do you ever think leather can be OK at the office?
Leather at the office. One of my favorites. It’s hard for me to go a day sans leather. I try to incorporate it into every day wear whether it be leather piping on a top, a leather collar on a dress, or good ol’ leather heels. As far as shift dresses go, that can sometimes be tricky. A full leather shift is likely borderline, if not fully, inappropriate for most conservative office settings. But this number does a fine job at walking that line in the classiest way possible. Just make sure you purchase a size that will ensure appropriate length.

I love this ankle bootie trend but I don’t know how to wear it to the office. Is that even an option?
Booties at the office can absolutely be an option, depending on your office setting. Are other women wearing them? Are they wearing them with dresses as to say, ‘HAY I’M WEARING BOOTIES!’ or are they wearing them with pants so the ankle is covered saying more, ‘I do love an ankle boot but I’m a little hesitant to fly my bootie flag at the office.’ Either way, check out your floor & see what other ladies are doing. My favorite bootie look at the office is with a tapered pant – this way the pant hits or hugs your ankle so the full bootie is exposed but doesn’t cut your leg in half like some do whilst wearing a dress. This is my absolute favorite, at the moment. & just in case I’m still coveting it in the spring it comes in tan. Be still my heart.
Make sure you yield to the type of bootie that is appropriate, as well. For example, in my office this [as much as I love them with my entire being] would not fly however, this option is more than fabulosity & within the rules.
Cute picks. Love the SJP alternative.

Okay then… how about a leather skirt? Does a leather skirt ever make an appearance at your office?
